This was a great book, Because I have a lot of drawing experience already, I didn't read every page. But its great for beginners! If your interested in Zentangle or Zendoodling, this book will be a big help. This is a fine introduction to the world of drawing for the total neophyte (like myself) who wish to acquaint himself with drawing and perhaps or not continue. It have easy to follow guides which anyone who's just starting wanted to learn all the simple basics that any beginner should know. Since I love to draw out of my idle times, i keep on reading every page over and over then tried everything out of this great book. I would definitely recommend this book to learn drawing.
Everything around us really has patterns in order to master such thing, just like in drawing, you need to know what are the patterns and tactics to make your art work a masterpiece. Back then I was a horrible drawer, my friends at school usually mocked me because of my art works, well I assume they did not consider them as an art. But I guess it is not too late yet to venture in this kind of hobby. After reading the book I was able to get enough ideas on how to get a start up pack in creating a nice art work. I believe that this book would be a great help especially for those who has passion in creating an art work.
This book will be definitely helpful for beginners! My drawing skills weren't really good, but after using this book, I can draw much better now! First, it introduces you to the most important material in drawing. We need to know its type and kinds and what are they used for. So you need not to worry about the outcome of your drawing because you are doing it for the first time.
This book is for beginners, although people who have some knowledge in sketching and drawing in general, can find this book useful. The book provides a nice introduction to drawing with lots of examples and exercises. What I really liked about the book is that it emphasizes that you don't have to be Picasso to draw, all you need is some artistic spirit and will to learn and be patient. With a nice introduction to some traditional techniques and Zen Doodling, I found this book very helpful and interesting to read.
A great book, but i think you should start with a book basic. I would suggest starting with simplier book or a how to drawing book for children. This is a great book to learn from but you should get comfortable with being a artist firts before diving in.This book offers instruction, as well as understanding as to why use this particular pencil or pad, and why this process works easier than another and so forth.
I always thought to myself that I was hopeless when it comes to drawing but I now realize what I need is a guide to help me and this book gives me just that. I love the exercises which help me to evaluate if art is my niche, and I now think it is my niche based on those exercises and this makes me happy.
There is a simple list of tools which is very encouraging because I don’t need a lot of stuff and they are not expensive. It was interesting to read about Zen doodle and its origin. I loved the pictures which helps me as a visual learner but would have appreciated if there were more pictures, diagrams and illustrations because this is a book about drawing.
I’ll keep practicing my drawing and I have the right book to help me.
This book is a great tool for beginners to take a try at art and decided on what they want to do. The projects here are easy to follow and it enables and provokes the reader to use their imagination.
This books redeeming feature was its succinct but also clear explanations. I personally prefer the chapter 3 work on sketching and shading, then the following 2 chapters on drawing the human face and perspective. There are also some pictures here and there; in this case, I think more illustrative examples should have been used, since we are talking about art here. In this book there is a lot of wordy advice, tips, instructions and guidelines to take and make use of. On that I saw no flaw.
